Locksmith, door, and security-system specialists — born in Brooklyn Heights, grown into Williamsburg. Two Brooklyn offices, one licensed trade, serving homeowners, businesses, and institutions across the five boroughs, 24/7.
The real story: two offices, one trade
Downtown Door Repair & Security started at 170 Hicks St in Brooklyn Heights — our main office, in the middle of brownstone Brooklyn. The neighborhood shaped the trade: rekeying and restoring locks on landmarked doors, getting pre-war buzzer and intercom systems working again, and securing the co-ops and small storefronts around the Heights. Locksmith, intercom, and access-control work is the core of what we do; door repair is the supporting craft that makes those installs hold up.
As the work spread across North Brooklyn, we opened our second office at 232 Leonard St in Williamsburg — our North Brooklyn office, which leads with door supply and installation and security-system work. Both are real offices with one crew behind them: keys cut and cylinders pinned on our own machines, locks and hardware from stock, and full building access-control systems planned and installed.
We serve two very different kinds of clients with the same crew: homeowners and businesses who need something secured quickly and correctly, and institutional clients — schools, hospitals, municipal facilities — who need a licensed, insured vendor (NYC DCWP #2109597) with the paperwork and process for public projects.
